#1 Hi guys, I just picked up a reasonably cheap pair of ditton 44's that unfortunately have blown tweets. I'd like to retain originality as far as possible and wish to know if anyone has had luck with repairs to the voice coil on these?

But the Ditton 44 is a 3-way system with the tweeter crossed over at 5 kHz. A 19 mm tweeter appears to be a better choice than a 25 mm one, in this system (but maybe not in other systems which use the HF2000 but cross over at a lower frequency.)

I just did some measuring on my old Celestion Ditton 44. HF2000 is 100mm (4") in a 104mm rebate. Cutout is a mere 62mm, aka 2.5". Tweeter filter is 4uF/.14mH/6uF.

I found them lacking a bit when I converted to low-powered tubes. That said, I liked them better than Ditton 25s as the 44s lack the bass radiator, which I found was not compatible with my room (yeah, maybe I should have tried treating the room first). One complaint about the Ditton 25/44/66 is the HF2000 tweeter, which seems to blow easily.
